At the international auto show in Guangzhou in the second decade of November 2016, the German company BMW organized the premiere of a very interesting novelty - a compact sedan 1-Series with an in-plant index "F52", created based on the Compact Sedan concept presented in 2015.
The car, built on a front-wheel drive "bogie" UKL, was developed specifically for the Chinese market, and will be sold exclusively in the Middle Kingdom (although it is possible that in the future it will appear in other countries).
The exterior of the three-volume "one" is drawn in the traditional style for the Bavarian brand - the characteristic design of the front end with "nostrils" of the radiator grille, the "family" relief of the sidewalls, the energetic silhouette and the signature strokes of the taillights. The breed in the exterior of the car is felt instantly.
The size of the BMW 1-Series sedan clearly fits into the "golf" class according to European standards: its length is 4456 mm, and the width and height do not exceed 1803 mm and 1446 mm, respectively. The wheelbase of the four-door does not go beyond 2670 mm.
The interior of the compact sedan is typically "beemveshny", and its belonging to the glorious "Bavarian family" is identified without mistakes: a laconic but informative "toolbox", a three-spoke steering wheel with distinct tides and a "family" center console with an 8.8-inch multimedia display and exemplary block of "microclimate".
Inside the BMW 1 Series in a three-volume body, four adults can easily sit down. the middle rider on the back sofa will be greatly disturbed by the high tunnel in the center.
But how roomy the trunk of the car is is still unknown.
Specifications. For the four-door Bavarian "one" there are three gasoline engines with turbocharging and direct "power supply":
- Version BMW 118i equipped with an in-line "three" with a volume of 1.5 liters, developing 136 "horses" at 4500-6000 rpm and 220 Nm of torque at 1250-4000 rpm, which is combined with a 6-speed "automatic".
- Modifications 120i and 125i equipped with a 2.0-liter engine with four "pots", which works in conjunction with an 8-range automatic transmission. In the "younger" case, it generates 192 "stallions" at 5000 rpm and 280 Nm of possible thrust at 1250 rpm, and in the "senior" - 231 "mares" at 5000-6000 rpm and 350 Nm at 1250- 4500 rpm.
The BMW 1-Series Sedan extends on the UKL front-wheel drive architecture with a transversely mounted engine and independent suspensions on both axles: MacPherson struts at the front and a four-link system at the rear.
The car uses an electric power steering rack and pinion, and its wheels accommodate ventilated front and conventional rear brake discs (on "top" versions with ventilation and on the rear axle) with ABS, EBD and other electronics.
Complete set prices. Serial production of the four-door "one" started in mid-December 2016 at the joint venture plant BMW and Brilliance, and it appeared on sale in the Chinese market already in February 2017.
The cost of the BMW 1-Series sedan in China is 204,800 ~ 319,800 yuan (which at the current exchange rate is 1,711,000 ~ 2,672,000 rubles). Depending on the level of equipment, the sedan can boast: LED optics, head-up display, multimedia system with touchscreen display (8.8 ″), rear view camera, parking aid, lane tracking system and frontal collision avoidance system, as well as a panoramic roof.
