At the International Motor Show in Frankfurt, held in September 2015, along with the fourth generation of the Renault Megane C-class hatchback, a bride and its "heated" modification with the "GT" prefix took place, to which in the spring of 2016 (after its debut at the Geneva Motor Show ) the "pumped-over" version of the cargo-passenger model has also joined.

Such cars differ from "civilian" versions not only in sporting motives (in appearance and interior) and a more powerful engine, but also in their own steering, chassis and braking system settings.

Against the background of the "base", the GT-version of Renault Megan of the 4th generation stands out with "evil" bumpers, the design of the radiator grille, the "double-barreled" exhaust system, a spoiler on the trunk lid and 18-inch wheel disks. Finally, the status of the car is emphasized by the "juicy" colors of the body paint.

The external dimensions of the "heated Megane" do not differ much from those of the standard model: 4359-4626 mm in length, 1447-1459 mm in height and 1814 mm in width (with side mirrors - 2050 mm). Between the front and rear axles of the five-door, the wheelbase stretches 2669-2712 mm.

The interior of the Renault Megane GT is borrowed from the 4th generation model, with the exception of some touches - a slightly truncated steering wheel, sports front seats with a pronounced profile and contrasting decorative inserts in body color.

In terms of the possibilities for accommodating passengers and luggage, the "heated" car is completely identical to the "civilian" one.

Specifications. For "Megan" in the GT version, two power plants are allocated to choose from:

  • Under the hood of the petrol version is a 1.6-liter turbo engine with direct fuel injection, the output of which has 205 horsepower at 6000 rpm and over 260 Nm of maximum torque at 2300 rpm. The 7-band EDC7 "robot" with two clutches is responsible for delivering the entire potential to the wheels of the front axle.
The "charged" hatchback accelerates to the first "hundred" after 7.1 seconds, while the station wagon does this exercise 0.3 seconds slower. Regardless of the body type, the car reaches a maximum of 230 km / h, and in the combined mode "drinks" no more than 6 liters of fuel per 100 km of run.
  • The diesel modification is based on an in-line four-cylinder unit Energy dCi with a volume of 1.6 liters with bi-turbocharging, Common Rail injection technology and 16 valves, which develops 165 "horses" at 4000 rpm and 380 Nm of available thrust at 1750 rpm. It is mated to a 6-speed EDC6 gearbox that sends its full potential to the front wheels.
Spurt up to 100 km / h at a five-door takes 8.8-8.9 seconds, its maximum speed is 214 km / h, and diesel fuel does not take more than 4.6-4.7 liters for a “hundred” way.

Structurally, the 4th generation Megane GT resembles a standard model: a front-wheel-drive CMF bogie, independent MacPherson struts on the front and a semi-dependent torsion beam on the rear axle, electric power steering, disc brakes on all wheels, supplemented with electronics.

The features of the "heated" five-door include a reinforced braking complex and a fully-controlled chassis 4Control (at speeds up to 50 km / h, the rear axle wheels turn by an angle of up to 3.5 degrees in the opposite front side).

Options and prices. In Europe (in particular at home), the "fourth" Renault Megane GT of 2016-2017 is sold at a price of 32,200 euros (~ 2.034 million rubles at the current exchange rate) for the hatchback version, while the utility version costs 900 euros (~ 57 thousand rubles) is more expensive.
By default, the car has: 18-inch wheel disks, combined trim, a multimedia complex with an 8.7-inch screen, front and side airbags, LED headlights, an air conditioner and a bunch of other systems responsible for comfort and safety.
